McLaughlin Glazeware - About Us

About Us

McLaughlin Glazeware was founded in 1993 in Wilmette, Illinois by Mary McLaughlin, an artist and former geologist with a love for the rich medium of porcelain and enamel giftware. Mary started by hand painting porcelain gifts for her friends, spending hours custom designing artwork featuring her friends’ and family’s homes or celebrating their milestones. Mary’s geology training informed a keen interest in the science behind the media, compounds, and pigments involved in this unique art form. Eventually, McLaughlin Glazeware grew to offer custom-designed boxes, presentation bowls, platters, desk accessories and other items for a variety of clients, including four Presidential administrations and dozens of universities, not-for-profit organizations, governmental organizations both domestic and international, and other business entities.

Now run by the second generation of the family, McLaughlin Glazeware remains dedicated to producing heirloom-quality giftware with custom hand-painted designs in a studio just down the road from our original location, in Northfield, Illinois, USA. We have a dedicated staff of highly skilled graphic artists and designers, who often add hand-painted detail to the custom products we create. We pride ourselves on producing personal, quality gifts for all occasions and special events, including gifts for weddings, promotions, Mother's Day, Father's Day, anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, and other milestones and life events.

Our artists will work with you to produce a logo or scene on one of our exquisite pieces, to help you create timeless gifts for your mother, father, sister, brother, partner, spouse, wife, husband, employees, colleagues, and friends. We’re dedicated to helping you show them how much you care.
